Qualification and Experience
A life long interest and a passion for architecture. Jon Simpson’s background and experience developed through his roots in construction and as the owner of a Design/Build General Contracting firm through the mid 1970’s and 80’s. In 1988, he went to work in a local Architectural/Engineering firm and gained greater knowledge and experience in design.

JWS Design has been a licensed business since 1992, with involvement in different professional associations. Jon has qualified and passed both state and national certification exams on residential design. In order to maintain these credentials, continuing education courses are a consistent part of his commitment to be up to date on the building codes, building practices, materials and methods of construction.

Jon has served as a Past Acting President, External Vice President and, Membership Director of the Washington Society of, The American Institute of Building Design or, AIBD, a national organization for design professionals, whose members are both architects and building designers. The Washington Society of AIBD has members from around the State and regularly sponsors meetings, events, and training, along with an annual design conference for the entire Northwest Region.
